Meet Our 2022 APG Fellows

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 10, 2022) – American Pacific Group established the APG Fellows Program in 2021 to provide internship opportunities to college students who are from traditionally underrepresented communities. APG is proud to announce its Fellows for 2022.

APG Sierra Fellow – Juanita Alabi

Juanita Alabi is a rising junior at Oberlin College. She is originally from Accra, Ghana. In high school, she was involved in many activities, mostly centered around music, community service and writing. She was a vocalist for the school band as well as a member of the school choir. She was the head of resident writers for the school magazine and the writing head for her cohort’s CAS project. She volunteered with New Horizon School, an institution for students with disabilities and special needs. She was also the editor and Vice President for Interact Club, a subgroup of the Rotary club. Due to her achievements in service, she received the Zonta YWPA Global Award at the end of high school. As a sophomore at Oberlin, she was a PWC communication Strategy Extern in October 2021. In Spring 2022, she participated in the Blackstone Future Women Innovators Program, a two-day immersive experience that exposes high achieving sophomore women to technology in finance. She was also a participant in the Blackrock Find Your Future Forum and is currently a Bain BEL participant. She is involved with the African Students Association and the Oberlin Business Scholars Program. She is APG’s 2022 Sierra Fellow.

APG Golden Gate Fellows – Nicolle Bejarano and Tyanna Woodham

Nicolle Bejarano is a rising senior at Florida State University. She is originally from Bogota, Colombia and moved to Miami, Florida at the age of 11. She attended Miami Beach Senior High School and was part of Amnesty International, the Hispanic Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Society, volunteer at Mercy Hospital and at the Catholic Student Union, an intern for the Academy of Education and Training, and tutor for the College Readiness for ESOL Students (CRES) Club. She also participated in the school’s soccer team and scuba diving club. At Florida State University, she has been part of the Hispanic/Latinx Student Union, FSU Teach program, and was the previous internal secretary of Theta Tau’s Professional Fraternity Phi Delta Chapter. She is the current president of the Biomedical Engineering Society Chapter at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and works at a chemical lab researching sustainable polymeric materials for medical applications. Nicolle will be interning this summer at the University of California, Berkeley in a Materials and Bioengineering laboratory, where she will be researching new drug delivery systems for tissue regeneration. She wants to pursue a career in materials science or biotechnology and build her own business providing affordable health care assistance to underdeveloped communities. She is one of APG’s 2022 Golden Gate Fellows.

Tyanna Woodham is a rising senior at Hampton University majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Sociology. She is originally from Brooklyn, New York and attended Nazareth Regional High School where she was a part of the Cheerleading Team, Junior Statesmen of America, National Honor Society, and Sisters Reaching Out. At Hampton University, she is a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma honor society and has consistently been on the Dean’s List. Tyanna will be interning this summer at a New York City Title 1 Public High School making parental outreach to at-risk students that are in doubt of transitioning into the next grade level. She wants to pursue a career in law and in the juvenile justice system. She is one of APG’s 2022 Golden Gate Fellows.
