John Starr is a Managing Director, Portfolio Operations at American Pacific Group. He is focused on working with APG portfolio company leadership teams to improve go-to-market performance.

Prior to joining American Pacific Group, John was an Operating Partner at H.I.G. Capital where he worked with portfolio companies on go-to-market initiatives across a variety of industries, including software, business services, and manufacturing. Prior to H.I.G, John was Vice President, Global Sales Channels and Professional Services at Forcepoint, and prior to that he was Director of Strategic Programs at Vista Equity Partners where he worked across the portfolio developing and implementing best practices. John received a BBA from University of Notre Dame and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.

A native New Yorker, John is always hunting for a good bagel or a slice of pizza. When he is not on the sidelines watching his two kids play sports he enjoys the outdoors, skiing, golf and listening to “The Boss.”
