Sterling Tai is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at American Pacific Group. He oversees firm- and fund-related finance matters and oversees the firm’s compliance program.

Prior to joining American Pacific Group, Sterling was the Controller and Director of FP&A at Sunstone Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm focused on technology, where he worked on management company and fund-related finance matters. Prior to Sunstone, Sterling was the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Matthews International Capital Management and held various roles during his tenure there. Sterling received a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley and he is a Certified Public Accountant.

Sterling is an avid tennis player, scuba diver, and enjoys reading nonfiction.
